Guide for children
Dear Children,
To find all your favourite learning resources such as Bug Club, Times Table Rockstars etc. you will now need to visit your very own class website which you will find above. Take time to explore your class website as it contains lots of great information for you and is updated by your Teacher. Each classes page is different and even features a celebration section!
You can also visit the subject websites for Geography, Music, Science and TTRS to help you become expert Geographers, Musicians, Scientists and Mathematicians!
Take a look at this video which gives you a quick tour of a Class Website:
Where will I find the learning activities my Teacher sets me?
Your home learning tasks will now be set on ‘Google Classroom‘.
There are lots of amazing things that you can do on Google Classroom such as working with your friends, earning points for your work, talking to your teachers & friends on the class stream, saving your work to your very own cloud storage and even a video circle time with your class!
Where can I find Google Classroom?
Everything you need will always be on your class website. There is a link on the home page which will take you straight there once you click it.
Take a look at this video which gives you a quick walkthrough of how to find Google Classroom:
What log in details do I need?
Great news! You can use the same username & password as you did for DB Primary.
What do I do once I am in Google Classroom?
Don’t worry if you are feeling a little lost at first. Like anything new, take some time to explore. Your teachers will post information on your ‘Stream‘. The stream is where you can talk to your teachers and friends. You can also ask questions. To see your learning tasks, you will need to go to ‘Classwork‘. Once you get the hang of it, there will be no stopping you!
I am doing some great learning at home. How can I share this with my class?
You can post your online learning to the stream in your Google Classroom. If you have done some work on paper or created some art work, you can ask an adult to take a photo or video on their phone and post it on your stream.
What if I see something that upsets me online?
If you see anything that upsets or worries you, you can tell your teacher by clicking on the Worry Button on your class website or by writing your teacher a message in Google Classroom.
What if I am finding it tricky or something does not work?
That is OK. Like always, there is lots of help available:
- If you need help with your learning, you can ask someone at home to help you by reading the instructions with you.
- You can also ask your teacher or classmates by writing a message on the stream in your Google Classroom.
- If you want this to be private, use the Worry Button to tell your teacher.
- If you cannot login in to something, you can ask an adult at home to contact Mrs Magan or Ms Hasker using the details below and she will get back to you.
- We can also call and help you over the phone if you need it.
We are available to help you through this so please ask an adult to email Mrs Magan or Ms Hasker at office@woodlands.ealing.sch.uk or text our school messaging service on 0203 389 9069.
